VVIPs Make a Beeline for Home Minister's Iftar Party

Former governors’ M M Jacob and Vakkom Purushothaman, MLA’s from the ruling front and Opposition, among others,also attended the meet.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Home Minister Ramesh Chennithala threw an Iftar party here on Thursday, in solidarity with the observance of the breaking of the fast by Muslims during Ramadan season.

A galaxy of who’s who in the capital city and belonging to different echelons of political-cultural-religious-official spheres as well as  from the world of arts and literature attended the friendly conclave.

Those who were conspicuous by their presence in the conclave included Governor Justice (rtd) P Sathasivam, Rajya Sabha deputy chairman P J Kurien, Chief Minister Oommen Chandy, Speaker N Sakthan, Opposition Leader V S Achuthanandan, KPCC president V M Sudheeran and almost all Cabinet ministers of  the UDF Government.
