'No RSS Drill on Temple Premises'

Express News Service

KOCHI: The Travancore Devswom Board has submitted before the Kerala High Court that  no Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) Sakha or drill is being conducted on the premises of Thrikkadavoor Mahadeva Temple, Kollam. The TDB also submitted that it has not granted sanction for any such activities of RSS.

The TDB made the submission on a suo motu- initiated case based on a complaint stating that RSS is allegedly using the temple for imparting arms training and storage of arms and explosives. The Devaswom Ombudsman pointed out that he has received a complaint from a native of Thrikkadavoor alleging that the temple is now the centre of arms training of RSS.

It was stated that a rival of the RSS was killed and the temple premises are used as  hideout. The police are not taking any action due to religious sentiments. Though the Board approached the police, no action has been taken. Hence, necessary steps may be taken to ensure peace in the region, the report stated.

A Division Bench comprising Justice Thottathil B Radhakrishnan and Justice Sunil Thomas recorded the submission of TDB.
