Kerala Books and Publications Society due get over Rs 70 cr from government

Society has to get over Rs 70 cr from government for printing school text books and lotteries, said KBPS MD.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Kerala Books and Publications Society (KBPS) Managing Director Tomin J Thachankary has said that the Society has to get more than Rs 70 crore from the government for printing school text books and lotteries.

"An amount of Rs 25 crore is pending from 2010 onwards towards printing of text books. This year, the government has to pay Rs 26 crore towards buying of paper for the printing. In respect of lottery printing, the society has to get Rs 28 to 30 crore crore," he said here.

He also said that the printing and distribution of of text books for 2016-17 was completed. '' The books for as many as 12,000 schools has been sent to the 3300 school societies for distribution,'' he said. However, he said that IT books for class nine and ten has not been completed as the SCERT approval for the matter has not been received yet.
