Ernakulam to be declared first fully-electrified Assembly segment

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Ernakulam will be declared the first fully-electrified Assembly constituency in the state on Tuesday.

Power Minister M M Mani will make the declaration at the Ernakulam Town Hall at 3 p.m. Hibi Eden MLA will preside over the function. Ernakulam MP K V Thomas will deliver the keynote address. 


The declaration is being made in connection with the total electrification scheme of the LDF government. Under the scheme all households in the state will be fully electrified by March next year.

The KSEB, which is the implementation agency, said Kerala would become the first state in the country to be fully electrified by March next. The government is spending `174 crore for implementing the scheme. As many as 1.3 lakh households have signed up for the scheme.
