Thirteen bombs found near Kerala's Jagannath temple

Ten ice-cream ball bombs and and three steel bombs were found under a tree in Temple Gate in a raid jointly conducted by the police and the bomb squad.

THALASSERY: The police have found 13 bombs near the railway tracks at Temple Gate in Thalassery on Tuesday afternoon.

Ten ice-cream ball bombs and and three steel bombs were found under a tree in Temple Gate in a raid jointly conducted by the police and bomb squad, a day prior to the temple festival at the noted Jagannath temple here. The festival which would begin from Wednesday will go on till March 15.

The seizure of the bombs has created tension here, as it is believed that the bombs would have been kept to create problems here.

Security in the area has been beefed up following the seizure.
