Nalini Netto is new Kerala chief secretary

The Kerala cabinet on Wednesday appointed senior Indian Administrative Service officer Nalini Netto as the successor to former chief secretary S M Vijayanand.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala cabinet on Wednesday appointed senior Indian Administrative Service officer Nalini Netto as the successor to former chief secretary S M Vijayanand, who retires on March 31. Nalini Netto is currently the additional chief secretary (Home and Vigilance) and Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan.

The 1981-batch IAS officer will have a five-month tenure as chief secretary. The cabinet meeting also approved the appointment of Public Works ACS Subrata Biswas as the new Additional Chief Secretary for home and vigilance.

Additional Chief Secretary VS Senthil, currently the ACS for Planning and Economic Affairs, Environment and member secretary of the State Planning Board will be the new Principal Secretary to the chief minister. Dr Asha Thomas is the new Secretary of Public Works and P Bala Kiran the new director of tourism.
