THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: The Kerala State Human Rights Commission (KSHRC) has registered a suo motu case on the pathetic condition of seats arranged by the Kerala Blasters at the Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium for the ISL matches. The commission also asked Blasters CEO, GCDA secretary and Ernakulam District Collector to submit a report in three weeks.
It will consider the case in a sitting in the city in January. KSHRC acting president P Mohandas issued the order based on the The New Indian Express report titled ‘ISL’s Chair of Thorns in Kochi’s Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium’ published on Tuesday.
It is the second suo motu case being charged against Blasters within a month. The commission had ordered a probe into the alleged touting of tickets for the inaugural (ISL) match between Blasters and ATK on November 17. In the report, Express had highlighted the plight of fans who were forced to sit on the floor and watch the ISL matches. Blasters CEO Varun Tripuraneni said, “It may not be possible to repair chairs the very next day of a match, but it’ll be completed well in advance of the next match.”
