THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: Giving clear indications the Bharat Dharma Jana Sena (BDJS) is all set to exit the BJP-led NDA, SNDP Yogam general secretary Vellappally Natesan met Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan here on Tuesday and held discussions with him.

Afterwards, he said the NDA existed only on paper in Kerala and that the BJP would never rise to power in the state the way things were going.

On the BDJS stand, he said, “Is there any benefit going on like this? They (the BJP state leaders) can’t do anything. They have not respected any of the assurances given to the BDJS.”

The BDJS exit could leave the NDA in tatters in the state.

Vellappally’s outburst gains political significance as it has come just weeks ahead of the Vengara bypoll, and at a juncture when the BJP is about to announce its candidate. “The party leaders here are not interested in wresting power in the state,’’ he said.

The meeting with Pinarayi Vijayan was held at Cliff House.
