Bindhu missing case: anticipatory bail application postponed to July 4

ALAPPUZHA: Alappuzha District and Sessions Court, Alappuzha on Monday posted the verdict on the anticipatory bail application filed by an accused T Mini alias Jaya, Kuruppamkulangara in the realtor Bindhu missing case to July 4. Mini, who allegedly signed in various land deal documents duping as Bindhu approached the court for granting anticipatory bail after the police start hunt for her.

Meanwhile, DGP Loknath Behera reviewed the progress of the investigation of the case. DGP expressed satisfaction over the current investigation and he has given direction to trace Bindhu as early as possible.

Three teams under the district police have been investigating the case. An action council was set up at Cherthala demanding to trace the missing women.

Council leader and social activist K R Rupesh said the council has decided to approach Kerala High Court demanding a CBI probe into the investigation. Rupesh said, the police investigation is not in a right direction.

"The police not yet arrested the suspected persons Sebastian and Mini. They appeared before the police for giving statements earlier, but police failed to arrest them. Now they are absconding and trying to get anticipatory bail. So the investigation by a strong agency can reveal the mystery behind the missing of the women," he said.

The mystery behind the case increased with the suicide of an autorickshaw driver Manoj, 47, who was called by the SIT for Manoj was found hanging at his house at Pallipuram on June 28.

He was an intimate friend of Sebastian, a friend and co-dealer of missing Bindhu. Meanwhile, anticipatory bail plea filed by prime accused Sebastian was dismissed by the District and Sessions Court earlier.Bindhu, 46, daughter of late Padmanabhan Pillai and late Ambikadevi, Padma Nivas, Kadakkarapally, Cherthala, went missing since August, 2013.

The incident came to the limelight when her brother Praveen, settled in Italy, approached the police in last September. However, Pattanakkad police did not make any action on his complaint.

However, in May 2018, Praveen again approached the home department. Following this, the police started a probe in the case.
