Court stays release of Malayalam movie ‘Theetta Rappai’

KOCHI: The Ernakulam Additional Sessions Court has issued a stay order on the release of Malayalam movie ‘Theetta Rappai’ scheduled to be released on July 6.

Considering the petition lodged by C A Sajeevan, scriptwriter of the movie, the court granted an interim injunction against K K Vikraman, producer, distributor and proprietor of KBM Creations, and Winu Ramakrishnan, director, restraining them from violating the copyright of the petitioner over the original story, dialogue, scene and sequence of the movie.

The court also stayed the exhibition and release of the film without including the name of the petitioner as the writer of story, screenplay, and dialogue in the title of the film until further order.
