KSRTC to launch theme song; music by CMD Tomin Thachankary

Employees and citizens are welcome to suggest lyrics for the song based on the music composed by the CMD.

THIRUVANANTHAPURAM: In an effort to motivate employees, KSRTC is set to launch a theme song. KSRTC chairman and managing director Tomin J Thachankary has composed the music for the song, aimed at popularising KSRTC among the general public.

Employees and citizens are welcome to suggest lyrics for the song based on the music composed by the CMD. The best lyrics will be selected and sung by the KSRTC staff. The theme song is expected to be launched within a month.

“The idea behind launching the theme song for KSRTC is to instil integrity among the corporation employees. It aims to convey a message to the corporation drivers, conductors and management that we are all part of the same family,” said Thachankary.

The transport corporation is planning to shoot a video for this theme song. The principal characters in this video will be corporation employees, offices and its popular buses. The song is slated to be made the ring tone and caller tone on the mobile phones of all corporation staff, apart from the office phones. 

KSRTC is coming up with many initiatives for the welfare of its employees. Scholarships were provided for employees’ children who performed well in SSLC and Class XII examinations. State Bank of India is facilitating availing of loans for the employees.
