Sabarimala issue: CPM leader MM Lawrence's grandson attends BJP event

THIRUVANATHAPURAM: Grandson of veteran CPM leader and former LDF convenor MM Lawrence, Mithun Immanuel Joseph, attended the venue of the BJP state president PS Sreedharan Pillai's one-day long fast against the police atrocities against Sabarimala devotees.

Mithun was received with thumping applauses by the crowd at the venue. 

Mithun, who is a plus two student told Express,  "I came on my own, but my mother( also gave her y support. I am interested in social work and politics, but have not decided which party I will be joining.”

Sreedharan Pillai, while speaking to Express said, "Mithuns’s mother is a government employee and we don't want to drag her into our venue, the boy attended the event with the knowledge of his family and this shows the resentment of women from even communist families on the actions taken by the Pinarayi Vijayan against Ayyappa devotees”.
