Shiv Sena (UBT) leader Sanjay Raut on Sunday took a dig at Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, saying he should put up a photograph of Cockroach Janta Party (CJP) founder Abhijit Dipke in his office to make him aware of the concerns and aspirations of Gen Z.

Raut slammed the BJP for calling Congress leader Rahul Gandhi's student outreach programme as "Paise Ki Goonj" and accusing the party of paying social media influencers to mobilise crowds for the event.

If Gandhi's 'Chhatron ki Goonj' event was a paid programme, then what was the Mukhyamantri Ladki Bahin Yojana, which paid Rs 1,500 per month to women ahead of the 2024 Maharashtra assembly polls? he questioned.

The BJP on Saturday dubbed Rahul Gandhi's student event in Pune as "Paise Ki Goonj", alleging that the Congress had paid social media influencers to mobilise crowds, triggering a fiery response from the Opposition, which claimed the saffron party feared the growing Gen Z support.

"Devendra Fadnavis and other BJP leaders should hang photos of Abhijeet Dipke. Because of him, they realised that there is a Gen Z," Raut said.

Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis on Sunday took part in the 'Manthan 4 Yuva' event for Gen Z in Nagpur. He asserted that the power of India’s democracy and Constitution, and the strength of the country’s youth, enabled an ordinary individual like him, who never imagined becoming a municipal corporator, to rise to the state’s highest office.
