BHUBANESWAR: Former minister and BJP leader Samir Dey was embroiled in a controversy today when a vendor at Unit II accused him of manhandling him. A complaint was lodged with Capital Police Station in this connection.

Dey apparently raised objection to the complainant Sujit Pradhan relieving himself in front of the house of the friend he was visiting.

The vendor alleged that he was manhandled by Dey. A station diary entry was made in this regard.

TOURISTS IN A SPOT: A group of Gujarati pilgrims on their way back from Puri landed in a spot, an unavoidable one, when the bus they were travelling in ran over a passerby near Rasulgarh Square last evening.

The bus driver was arrested and, vehicle had to be detained at local police station. The contingent of pilgrims had a torrid time without any mode of conveyance and their trip hitting the roadblock. Today, some of them cancelled their trip midway and started to return on their own.
