ORISSA: Nine-year-old Harshita Patnaik from Bhubaneswar has been chosen as one of the lucky winners of POGO’s ‘Bheem Ki Team’ contest.

India’s favourite kids’ channel POGO, offered kids a never before opportunity to star with their favourite toon hero Chhota Bheem on POGO.

‘Bheem Ki Team’ nationwide contest received an outstanding response of 1.25 lakh entries from across India. The five winner kids now get a once in a lifetime opportunity to star as their animated avatars with Chhota Bheem and his friends in a special vignette on POGO.

As one of the five lucky winners, Harshita will now be seen in her animated avatar in the town of Dholakpur with her favourite hero Chhota Bheem and his friends in this exclusive chance on POGO. Besides Harshita from Bhubaneshwar, the winner kids were from Kanpur, Indore, Mumbai and Bhopal.

POGO invited kids through the network and an extensive on-ground school contact programme to send in their answers to a simple question why ‘Bheem Ki Team needs him/her’ and (five) kids with the wittiest answers stood to win this exclusive chance.

Monica Tata, vice-president and deputy general manger, Entertainment Networks, Turner International India Private Limited, said, “Chhota Bheem once again proves to be India’s favourite hero for kids. In an overwhelming response to one of POGO’s most popular initiative, the “Bheem ki Team” contest managed to garner 1.25 lakh entries and we are extremely happy to announce the winners from different parts of India.''

Kids were awarded by getting their very own animated avatar featuring along side Chhota Bheem in a special on-air vignette. ''At POGO, it is our constant endeavour to give kids such exciting and entertaining opportunities to bring them closer to their favourite POGO heroes. With the astoundingly growing popularity of Chhota Bheem, we thought of this unique initiative that would not only make kids happy but also give them a chance to become popular as their superhero,'' he said.

About Chhota Bheem

A strategic acquisition between POGO and Hyderabad-based Green Gold studios – ‘Chhota Bheem’ captured the hearts and minds of kids in the first year of its launch in April 2006. Creating a rating hatrick, the show for three consecutive years made POGO the No.1 channel with highest shares and viewer time spent during Chhota Bheem airing on Sundays.

Inspired by the legendary Bheem from the Mahabharata, Bheem stands for his strength and integrity.

This fictional take revolves around iconic Bheem, as a nine year old brave and intelligent boy from an imaginary village Dholakpur, who loves to eat and always offers a helping hand to his friends and other villagers.
