NUAPADA: Two persons have been arrested by Jonk police for their alleged involvement in an MMS scandal. They two identified as Pradeep Gupta (30) and Ghanshyam Jal (31) of Khariar Road were held for forcing a woman into sex. Another accused, Salam Khan, is absconding.

In her complaint to Jonk Police on Friday, the victim said when she was alone, the three accused barged into her house and raped her. They also captured videos and photographs of the act on their mobile phones besides threatening to kill her and her family if she divulged the matter to anyone, she alleged. As she kept silent the miscreants continued to exploit her and take her photographs in compromising positions. Her husband works as a daily wager at Khariar Road and the couple have a fiveyearold son.

The accused had planned to sell the clippings but it was circulated by one of the accused before their plans could materialise.

DSP Prafulla Patra, who had on Thursday expressed helplessness to act in the absence of a complaint reacted after the MMS spread fast. They located the victim, took her into confidence and got an FIR lodged. They then nabbed two of the culprits.
