District administration has requested the State Government to cancel the visa of two foreign tourists who visited the Maoist-prone area here without its prior permission on Tuesday. It also asked to blacklist the tour operator who brought the tourists deviating from the Government guidelines.

After kidnap of two foreign tourists in Kandhamal in the recent past, the State Government had restricted the entry of foreign tourists into tribal areas without permission of the local administration and police.

Last week, two groups of tourists from Italy and Canada visited remote areas of Padmapur block in the district and took pictures of the tribals. When the matter was highlighted by the media, the police started investigation.

However, the tourists are not yet traced. The administration has also directed the police to keep a strict vigil on foreign tourists to avoid any untoward incident.
