The online counselling and choice-locking for the students who have cleared Odisha Joint Entrance Examination (OJEE) began on Monday. This is the last time that OJEE is conducting the counselling for engineering colleges.

More than 95,000 students are expected to take part in counselling which will continue till June 21.

The online counselling for the lateral entry students will begin from June 15 to 25. OJEE’s official website has provided a step-by-step instruction for the students.

The students have to register themselves at the website www.ojee.nic.in. The students can register by providing their OJEE roll numbers provided for their entrance test, date of birth and the 16 digit barcode number.

After the registration, the students have to mention their choice of college. This year, the OJEE officials have stressed that the students should provide as many choices as they can. “This will help us in getting better information about where the student can be admitted,” said an OJEE official.

The counselling will take place for 11 different streams. This year, the students have been provided the option to view how each college has performed in the last four years. This will enable them to take a calculated decision before choosing any college.Around 25 nodal centres set up across the State will start operating from June 13 and remain open till June 21. The final choice locking and the document verification will take place at the nodal centre. The students will also have to deposit ` 5000 as counselling fees. Additional officials will be provided at the nodal centres to guide the students.

The provisional allotment list will be announced on June 25 and the final list by June 29. The students have to report to their final allotted institutes from July 1 to 3.
