Home science students demand government jobs

Express News Service

Around 80 students of College of Home Science under Odisha University of Agriculture and Technology took out a rally on Thursday demanding  jobs  under government schemes.

The position of Child Development Project Officer in Integrated Child Development Services is best suited for these students as they are taught subjects like child development and family resource management.

But they are not being recruited to these positions for the past few years. “The appointment to these positions is made through promotion without taking academic qualification into consideration,” said Lila Debi, one of the students.

The students have also demanded reservation for these posts.
