Kalinga Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS) under KIIT University on Friday announced launch of its 1300-bed multi-speciality Pradyumna Bal Memorial Hospital.
Dedicating the hospital to people of the State on the occasion of 81st birth anniversary of late Pradyumna Bal, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik hoped that the initiative would be able to make quality healthcare accessible and affordable to the common man.
The hospital offers super speciality services with departments of Nephrology, Cardiology and Cardiothoracic surgery, Pediatrics surgery, Gastroenterology, Oncology & Onco Surgery, Plastic and Cosmetic Surgery, Urology, Neurology and Neurosurgery, Endocrinology and Rheumatology, besides speciality services in almost all disciplines.
It has 100 air-conditioned cabins, 100 ICU beds and 50 pediatric and neonatal ICU beds along with 16 OTs and 24-hour blood bank facility. It has a state-of-the-art central laboratory and radio diagnosis facilities with 64-Slice CT Scan, 1.5 Tesla MRI with 45 software application, Digital X-Ray and 4D Ultrasound.
Speaking on the occasion, founder of KIIT and KISS Achyuta Samanta said the hospital aims to provide modern medical treatment at an affordable price. Over 400 beds in the hospital are reserved for poor patients belonging to BPL category.
The hospital will function under experienced specialists and super-specialists from different nationally and internationally reputed medical colleges and research institutes, he said.
