Naveen Continues His Anti-Centre Tirade

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday reiterated that fight against the step-motherly treatment meted out to Odisha by the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre would continue till the State gets justice.

Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik on Wednesday reiterated that fight against the step-motherly treatment meted out to Odisha by the Congress-led UPA Government at the Centre would continue till the State gets justice.

Addressing public meetings during his whirlwind tour to Jagatsinghpur and Jajpur districts, Naveen highlighted the State’s growth in agriculture, industry, commerce, health and education sectors. He thanked people for their cooperation in making the State prosperous.

The Chief Minister inaugurated a number of projects during his visit to Jagatsinghpur. He inaugurated the newly constructed bridge over Gobari river on Biribati-Allipingal road connecting to Patasara under Biju Setu Yojana which was constructed at a cost of ` 1.76 lakh.

He also laid the foundation stones for a high-level bridge over Devi river on Bhokanji-Mundilo road which would cost ` 2.80 crore and another over river Biluakhai on Dhanipur-Gelapur via Kantilo road under Biju Setu Yojana to be set up at the cost of ` 1.66 crore.

Addressing people at Bandha Pamanavpur under Barchana Assembly constituency in Jajpur district, Naveen said BJD aims at all-round development of the State and upholding Odia dignity is his top most priority.

Naveen questioned that when Odisha’s repeated demands for the special category status has fallen on the Centre’s deaf years, what was the reason behind according the same status to Seemandhra in Andhra Pradesh.

He further accused the Centre of showing apathy post-Phailin when the State sought help for relief and rehabilitation work. The Chief Minister said, “Odisha will rise to the occasion to counter the Centre’s negligence in the right time.”

Naveen had come to the district to lay foundation stone of right embankment of Genguti river at Bandha Padmanavpur.

He was accompanied by local legislator AP Satpathy and Barchana block chairman. This was the fourth tour of the Chief Minister to the district in a month.
