Planetarium coming up in Rayagada

RAYAGADA: A mobile digital planetarium will be inaugurated at the district headquarters town of Rayagada district on August 19.

The district administration, with the help of Science and Technology department, will set up the planetarium on the premises of Rayagada Municipality office and the facility will remain open throughout the week except Monday.

Each show of 45 minutes will accommodate at least 25 to 30 persons. The shows will be in Odia, Hindi and English languages. Students would be charged     `10 per show while the fee will be `20 for others.
Collector Guha Punam Tapas Kumar said as Rayagada is a tribal-dominated district, space education is a far cry for students here.

“The planetarium will provide a platform for learning to young minds who want to learn everything about space and planets,” she said.

Man swept away

Rayagada: Ramsingh Hikaka (35) of Dhepaguda village was swept away in the Nagavali river near Kattaguda village under Kalyansinghpur block here on Wednesday. Despite efforts, the fire tender personnel of Kalyansinghpur could not trace  him till the evening.
