KORAPUT: Odisha Police today denied allegations of pressurising the Koraput minor gang-rape victim to change her statement while she was undergoing treatment.

The victim in her statement before the police had alleged that four persons in camouflage combat uniform had gang-raped her on October 10.

"The allegations labelled by the victim are baseless.

Police have never pressurised or tortured her during her stay at hospital to change her statement," said Superintendent of Police, Koraput, Kanwar Vishal Singh.

"A seven member team was treating the victim and para- medical staffs were present at her cabin. So, question of pressurising her doesnÂ’t arise," the SP added.

The SPÂ’s clarification came after a video clip of the victim was circulated in social media in which the rape survivor alleged that police is pressurising her to speak the truth charging her that she has given forged statement.

Also, the victim is seen in video alleging that police is harassing her relatives on suspicion of their involvement in the crime.

Meanwhile, the victim was discharged from the hospital today and her statement under section 164 of the CrPc was recorded at a Koraput court. She was later produced before the district child welfare committee.
