ROURKELA:  Rourkela youth Muktikanta Biswal’s quest to meet Prime Minister Narendra Modi to apprise him of his unfulfilled promises towards residents of the Steel City, ended abruptly on Wednesday.
Biswal said he will continue his fight in Rourkela. Earlier, Muktikanta shifted his hunger agitation site from Ramlila ground to Jagannath temple at Hauz Khas where Odia spiritual leader Baba Balia broke his fast at around 1:30 pm.

He said on Tuesday evening, Delhi Police personnel forcibly removed him from the Ramlila ground and admitted him to a hospital. They asked Biswal to leave Delhi immediately. He then shifted his agitation to the Jagannath temple at Hauz Khas.

Back home, Biswal’s friend and Juba Jagriti Manch convenor Gopal Jena on Wednesday broke his indefinite fast at Sector-2 square. Jena had resorted to agitation in solidarity with his friend and had sent 10 ml of his blood through courier to the Prime Minister’s Office. He was admitted to a hospital by Rourkela police after his health condition deteriorated. However, he resumed his fast on Wednesday and broke it after meeting members of Rourkela Bar Association in the afternoon.

Jena expressed resentment over Biswal not being allowed to meet the Prime Minister and said they would continue the protest at Rourkela.
