KORAPUT: In a heartwarming display of compassion and humanitarian gesture, Jeypore SDPO Archita Mittal was seen massaging the feet of Bol Bam devotees who had gone to the Gupteswar shrine to offer holy water to Lord Shiva on the occasion of Shravan Somvar on Monday.

As it is, hundreds of Bol Bam devotees undertake the pious journey towards the shrine barefoot during the holy month of Shravan. However, the long walks often leave the pilgrims exhausted, with many experiencing pain and discomfort in their legs and feet.

Seeing the difficulties faced by them, Mittal who was deployed on duty near the temple, started massaging their legs to provide the Kanwariyas relief from the pain and exhaustion caused by their journey. The gesture struck a chord with the public who lauded the IPS officer’s compassion and empathy.
