CHENNAI: Joyce Pandian, wife of CPI state secretary D Pandian, died at a private hospital here on Wednesday due to illness. She was 67. The body was brought to her residence at Anna Nagar and leaders of various political parties paid their last respects.
The body would be taken to her native, Uthappanaickanur near Usilampatti in Madurai tonight and would be buried on Thursday. AIADMK General Secretary J Jayalalithaa in a message, condoled her death. CPI(M) State Secretary G Ramakrishnan, AIADMK MLA D Jayakumar and party’s presidium chairman E Madhusoodhanan, TNCC President K V Thangkabalu, MDMK General Secretary Vaiko were among those who paid their respects.
Chief Minister Karunanidhi also condoled her death.
