PUDUCHERRY: Fabrice Mongiat took over as the new director of the Alliance Française, Puducherry, from September 1. Addressing the press, he said, “A new course on theater will be introduced from the next term. The same has been devised to help students learn French through theater, where students not only learn to speak the language but also to perform with the right kind of body language.”

He added that steps would be taken to teach the language along with the French culture as students tend to learn better when they are better acquainted with a country’s culture. Also, specialised courses in French for working people and for tourists would be introduced in due time.

Adding that Alliance Française, Puducherry, was one of the biggest of 15 such centers in India, he stated that the institution would work closely with the Puducherry tourism department and the education department.
