TIRUCHY: It was a memorable occasion for P Subburathina Bharathi, who on Thursday received a doctorate from the university named after his great grandfather, Bharathidasan.

Subburathina, the grandson of Saraswati, the daughter of the renowned poet, was among the 772 recipients of a doctorate during the 28th convocation of the Bharathidasan University held at its campus.

The son of Pugazhendhi, he is one among the faculty who received their degree from the Engineering and Technology branch.

Subburathina completed his graduation from the Mookambigai Engineering College and did an MBA from Bishop Heber College.

For his doctorate in Management Studies, he submitted a thesis on the ‘Life Style of Staff in Private Colleges’.

At present, he is an assistant professor in the department of Management Studies in a private college. Speaking to journalists, Subburathina Bharathi said that he was the only person from his entire family to study in Bharathidasan University, adding that he was proud and happy about it.   Speaking on the occasion TN Planning Commission member (Education) E Balagurusamy said When corruption,  one of the major impediments in society, happens even in the field of education, it becomes intolerable.
