‘All murders done in same pattern'

Express News Service

Expressing concerns over continued attacks and the killing of Hindu leaders and volunteers, president of Hindu Munnani Rama Gopalan said the failure of intelligence and delays in tracking the culprits points to the State’s inability to prevent such acts.

Vellore had witnessed the murder of BJP functionary Dr Arvinth Reddy last year; this year, Hindu Munnani state secretary Vellaiappan was killed in the beginning of this month, and BJP’s Tamil Nadu unit general secretary V Ramesh was hacked to death in Salem on Friday. “I am told that there is similarity in these killings,” he added.

He said Hindu leaders, cutting across various factions, have now united to face the challenges and devise strategies to protect and prevent such attacks. “We would like the government to extend help and support for the Hindu leaders to function independently and securely,” he said.

The Chief Minister should announce suitable plans in this regard, he further added.
