TN: Gelatin sticks, detonators, endangered marine species seized

Gelatin sticks, detonators and endangered species of sea cucumber and sea lizard, worth about Rs 50,000, were seized from two houses at nearby Tirupalikudi and Thondi, police said.

Gelatin sticks, detonators and endangered species of sea cucumber and sea lizard, worth about Rs 50,000, were seized from two houses at nearby Tirupalikudi and Thondi, police said.

Three persons have been arrested in this connection.

'Q' branch police, acting on a tip off, raided a house and seized 48 gelatin sticks, 20 detonators, 10 kg of sea lizards and 1.5 kg of sea lions with the arrest of one person, they said.

Based on the information provided by the arrested accused, police raided another house at Thondi and seized 24 gelatin sticks with some wire and 10 detonators and arrested two other men.

Police are on the lookout for a woman, believed to be the supplier of the explosive material.
