Former AIADMK MLA P Gurusamy died at a hospital at Arokonam after a brief illness.
62-year old Gurusamy, who represented Anthiyur (Reserved) constituency in the district twice in 1977 and 1980, died at a private hospital in Arakonam, over 80 km from Chennai, yesterday where he had been admitted recently, family sources said.
His body was brought to his native place Pudupalayam in Anthiyur and cremated today.
