Three pilgrims airlifted from Dehradun arrive

Three pilgrims from Union Territory who were airlifted to Dehradun on Tuesday due to ill health reached here on Wednesday evening.

Sivapragasam (73), Jagadeesan (59) and Dhanalakshmi (55) arrived at Chennai by flight and then travelled to Puducherry by road. They were accompanied by government’s special representative, A Bakthavatchalam.

The relatives of the pilgrims heaved a sigh of relief after they  reached  Gorimedu. They were taken to GH for medical attention.

Minister N G Panneerslevam, who is camping in Dehrudun, told Express over phone that the rest of the 46 pilgrims were airlifted to Chinyalisaur. They would travel to Rishikesh by road and the journey might take over six hours. They would then be taken to Delhi and flown to Puducherry.
