2,200 girls to get marriage aid

As part of the Moovalur Ramamirdham Ammaiyar Memorial Marriage Assistance Scheme, A Mohammedjan, Minister for Backward Classes and Minorities Welfare, and K C Veeramani, Minister for Health, would distribute marriage assistance in the form of cheques and a gold thali of four grams to over 2,200 girls at different venues in Vellore on Saturday, Sunday and on April 6.

On Saturday, 470 beneficiaries from Tirupattur, Kandili, Natrampalli, Alangayam and Jolarpet blocks would receive aid at the Rajalakshmi Thirumana Mantapam in Alangayam at 12 noon. Similarly, 770 girls from Arcot, Timiri, Sholinghur, Wallajah, Arakkonam, Nemili and Kaveripakkam will receive the benefits at Government Girls Higher Secondary School in Wallajah at 11 am on Sunday. On 6 April, 975 girls from the blocks of Vellore, Anaicut, Madhanur, Kaniyambadi, Katpadi, Gudiyattam, Pernambut and K V Kuppam will receive assistance at the Collectorate at 10.30 am.
