CM pats cop for rescuing two from well

Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Thursday expressed her appreciation for SBCID head constable S Subhash Srinivasan, for his role in the rescue of a woman and her niece from a well in Ramanathapuram district.

Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa on Thursday expressed her appreciation for SBCID head constable S Subhash Srinivasan, for his role in the rescue of a woman and her niece from a well in Ramanathapuram district.

Jayalalithaa recalled in a statement that on June 22, a little girl had fallen into a well at Ramanathapuram district’s Devipattinam village. Her aunt had jumped in to save the little girl. Srinivasan, who happened to be around, had jumped into the well after them and helped bring them out safely.

“I express my deep appreciation for S Subhash Srinivasan, a head constable with the SBCID, for the courage and dedication he has displayed in jumping into  well to save a woman and a girl,” she said in a statement. She announced a cash reward of Rs 1 lakh to Srinivasan.
