Aggrieved with the electricity bills taking an exponential leap, even after more or less same use, 30 residents of Kambainalloor knocked the doors of collectorate here on Monday seeking relief.

During the grievance day meeting at the collectorate, the residents claimed that despite their judicious use, more than a hundred residents in Kambainaloor had received bills for such huge sums. Vadivel, a resident of Alrapatti village, said, “I had been paying Rs 300 or Rs 400 per month, but recently the EB personnel who came to take the reading said that the bill was Rs 20,000.”

Meanwhile, Natarajan, Superintendenting Engineer of TNEB in Dharmapuri assured that action would be initiated against errant officials.
