TN Govt Provides Assistance to Differently-abled Woman Archer

Tamil Nadu government today said it has provided financial assistance to a differently-abled woman archer in recognition of her achievements and encourage her to train for global competitions.

Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa yesterday gave away Rs 1.14 lakh to S Kalaiselvi, who had won three gold medals in a 2012 national championship, to buy new bow, arrow and other necessary equipments, an official statement said.       

Further, the government gave assistance of Rs one lakh each to four girls from Kancheepuram whose parents were killed in recent accidents in the form of Fixed Deposits, it said adding a differently-abled student was given Rs 21,430 towards his educational expenses.
