PMK leader S Ramadoss on Saturday urged the State government to focus on school education in the northern districts of Tamil Nadu, while referring to the poor pass percentage in the Class XII board exams in these districts. In a statement, he pointed out that eight of the last 11 districts in terms of pass percentage were from the northern region of the State.

“Severe shortage of teachers in government schools is the main reason. While there must be a teacher for each subject, a teacher is forced to teach many subjects. Many schools function with just one teacher,” he said.
