Peacock Hit Forces 2 Hour Delay for Vaigai Express Journey

The Chennai bound Vaigai Express suffered a two hour delay due to a short circuit after a peacock hit the electric locomotive at nearby Vadamadurai today, officials said.

DINDIGUL: The Chennai bound Vaigai Express suffered a two hour delay due to a short circuit after a peacock hit the electric locomotive at nearby Vadamadurai today, officials said.

They said the peacock panicked at the sound of the engine and tried to fly across, but not high enough and hit the train.

The engine instantly stopped due to short circuit. A diesel engine was brought from Dindigul and the train proceeded to Tiruchirapalli after a two hour delay, they said.
