Woman Robbed at Knife Point

COIMBATORE:A 29-year-old woman was robbed at knife point by an unidentified man, said to be aged about 35 years, near Selvarajapuram here on Monday.

Police said that the victim S Dhanalakshmi (29), from Selvarajapuram, Chinthamaniputhur, Sulur, was a house wife, and her husband, Sankarapani, was working as a manager in a packaging company.

On Monday morning, Sankarapani had come home for lunch as usual. About 45 minutes after he left for work, an unidentified man entered the house through the front door, which was left unlocked.

The man had threatened Dhanalakshmi with a knife and demanded her jewels. He then took two gold chains and a set of earrings, totally weighing 10.5 sovereigns and fled.

Sulur police registered a case under Section 392 (robbery) of the IPC. Police are studying CCTV footages from a bakery and an industry located nearby.
