Chain Stolen

A thief stole the gold chain of an elderly woman at a bus stop in front of the CMCH, by tricking her and promising to get her a bus pass, based on an “identification number”, which he said was present in the chain.

Police said, the victim, M Meenakshi(65) of Pachapalayam had come to the hospital to visit a patient. While she was at a bus stop, an unidentified man met her and said, he would procure a bus pass for her but needed to check her chain as it had an “identification code,” needed for the pass.
