NCC Cadets Complete Sailing Expedition

PUDUCHERRY: Thirty senior division cadets of the National Cadet Corps completed their 336 km sailing expedition, ‘Sagar Parikrama 2015’, on Sunday.

They began their journey from here on September 10 and sailed through Cuddalore, Parangipettai, Pazhayar, Tharangambadi and Nagapattinam port on ‘DK Whalers’. Two Naval Officers, one Associated Naval Officer and 15 support staff accompanied the cadets on road along the sailing route. They also undertook awareness campaigns on clean coastal environment in those areas. Organised as part of the challenging adventure activities, ‘Sagar Parikrama 2015’, is part of an all-India competition ‘Most Enterprising Naval Unit’ (MENU) trophy.

Aimed at giving practical training, the cadets had to exhibit their mental strength and face challenges in rough sea conditions.
