Comedian's Wife Killed in Accident

Stand-up comedian Madurai Muthu’s wife died in an accident while traveling to Pilliyarpatti Temple as their car rammed on a tree.

SIVAGANGA: Well-known standup comedian Madurai Muthu’s wife died in an accident while traveling to Pilliyarpatti Temple as their car rammed on a tree near Kottaiyiruppu here on Thursday.

According to police, standup comedian Madurai Muthu, of Thanakkankulam village in Madurai district, was married to Vaiammal (32).  On Thursday morning Vaiammal was traveling to Pilliyarpatti Temple near Thiruppathur in Sivaganga district in a car that was driven by Kannan. When they were traveling near Kottaiyiruppu, the back wheel of the car exploded. Leading to this incident Kannan lost control and the car collided with a tree at the side of the road. In this incident Vaiammal sustained severe injuries and she died on the spot. Kannan who sustained injuries in this incident was rushed to the Thiruppathur GH and was later referred to the GRH in Madurai.

Sources said that Muthu went out of country to attend a foreign program. On hearing the news about his wife Vaiammal’s death, Muthu canceled his program and is returning back to Madurai.
