CHENNAI: Their long time has come to an end on Thursday- the eight former MLAs of the DMDK - R Sundararajan (Madurai Central constituency), K Tamil Azhagan (Tittakudi), Michael Rayappan (Radhapuram), Arun Pandian (Peravurani), K Pandiyarajan (Virudhunagar) T Sureshkumar (Chengam) and R Santhi (Senthamangalam-ST) and M Arun Subramanian (Tiruttani), M Kalai Arasu (PMK) and A Ramasamy (Puthiya Thamizhagam) who have resigned their membership from the State Assembly on February 22 joined the ruling AIADMK in the presence of Chief Minister and party supremo J Jayalalithaa.
For more than two years, the eight disgruntled DMDK MLAs have been functioning as a separate group in the State Assembly and they have been supporting the ruling party by all means. Very often, they have been asking the Chief Minister J Jayalalithaa to change their ‘brand’ and the time has now after the last session of the Assembly was over on February 20.
