CHENNAI: Foreshore Estate police have registered a case against Nanjil Sampath, deputy propaganda secretary of the AIADMK and supporter of TTV Dhinakaran, for his alleged defamatory speech against the BJP and leaders of the ruling AIADMK faction.

The case was filed based on a complaint by Loganathan, a BJP leader in Tiruvallur district.

There was brief tension between several BJP workers and police after the former attempted to protest in front of Sampath’s house in Foreshore Estate on Monday.
