CHENNAI: The Assembly witnessed flutter when certain AIADMK members mentioned the name of their party’s general secretary VK Sasikala while participating in the proceedings of the House on Friday.

Deputy Leader of Opposition Durai Murugan raised the issue questioning the rationale behind mentioning the name of Sasikala. “It is quite normal that they mention the name of the late Chief Minister but why they are pointing out a new name,” he asked.

However, Speaker P Dhanapal, who was in the chair, observed that there was nothing wrong in mentioning the name of a party’s general secretary (VK Sasikala) as DMK members mention their party leader’s (M Karunanidhi) name.
