CHENNAI: The DMK, for the third consecutive day on Friday, unsuccessfully attempted to raise the sting operation of a television channel involving MLAs from both factions of the AIADMK, in the Assembly.
During the zero hour, Leader of the Opposition, MK Stalin said as per directions of the Speaker, he was ready to submit the evidence in support of his allegation.

The conversation that followed this among the Speaker, Finance Minister D Jayakumar and Stalin were expunged by the Chair later. He said his ruling denying permission for raising the issue in the House would be final.

Protesting this, Stalin led his colleagues in a walk-out.
Talking to mediapersons outside the House, Stalin said though he was trying to produce the evidence, the Speaker did not allow him.  Deputy Leader of opposition Durai Murugan said the Speaker, initially expunged the remarks made by Stalin, later changed his mind and said let it be on record.  However, after an intervention from the finance minister, the Speaker again expunged whatever was restored. Thus, he made a volte-face on this issue.
