CHENNAI: The counselling for post-graduate (PG) medical courses in Tamil Nadu will begin on Monday, at Multi Super Speciality Hospital at Omandurar Estate in Chennai, health department officials told the New Indian Express.

The counselling will begin on May 8 till May 11, and the candidates rank list was released earlier today on the official website. An attached link with other instructions in PDF format was also released.

A total of 562 seat in PG degree courses and 200 diploma seats are available in government colleges.

The health department announced the move after a long legal battle and protests demanding 50 per cent quota for government doctors.

However, the Madras High Court on Saturday ruled that the admissions must be done only as per guidelines of the Medical Council of India, which does not permit 50 per cent quota for government doctors.
