Chennai- Abu Dhabi Etihad Airways flight grounded after 'fire' breaks out on wing

The flight was preparing for take-off when the pilots noticed the fire. All passengers were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported, officials said.

An Abu Dhabi-bound Etihad Airways flight carrying around 280 passengers was grounded on Monday after a “fire” broke out on its left wing, airport officials said.

All passengers were safely evacuated and no injuries were reported, officials added.

Fire Service personnel quickly extinguished the blaze, following which the flight was cancelled.

Etihad Airways could not be reached immediately for a comment.
