New TSPSC Chief Croons Online Lullaby

Express News Service

HYDERABAD: Candidates aspiring for government jobs no longer have to visit the Public Service Commission office for applying. They can simply go online, as a transparent and fool-proof recruitment process will be at their doorstep.

Announcing the introduction of online application process, newly-appointed chairman of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) Ghanta Chakrapani said candidates have to come to the commission only for interviews and to collect their appointment letters. Chakrapani took  charge here on Thursday.

Addressing presspersons, Chakrapani vowed to keep political meddling and corruption out of TSPSC recruitment process and make it totally transparent. “All efforts will be made to make TSPSC a role model to other States,” he asserted. He hinted at changes in the syllabi of recruitment exams to incorporate topics relating to Telangana State. There are a total of 1.07 lakh vacancies in various government departments and recruitment would be taken up in a phased manner.

Chakrapani, however, failed to divulge as to when the notification for filling vacant posts would be issued. He hinted that it (notification) might take place after Kamalnathan Committee concludes its task of dividing employees between Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. “The commission has to take approval from the CM before finalising anything. Any way, the Kamalnathan Committee is yet to complete the employees’ division,” he remarked.
