HYDERABAD: Senior leader Nagam Janardhan Reddy is likely to make a comeback into the BJP. The senior leader, who is maintaining a distance from the party activities since the past few months and has launched Telangana Bachao Mission, is all likely to get a key post in the party and would be given an important assignment.

Janardhan Reddy joined BJP before 2014 elections and was given the post of national executive member. However, in the latest party organisational revamp, he was sidelined by the party high command.

Also, there are reports that the Telangana state leadership too ignored him in the party activities.

Not only Janardhan Reddy, who floated his Telangana Bachao Mission, got a raw deal in the party but another leader from Mahbubnagar, former MLA Yennam Srinivas Reddy, too did not get proper recognition in the party and the latter recently quit the party. Both of them hail from Mahbubnagar district.

With Srinivas Reddy quitting the party and Janardhan Reddy not taking active part, the party has weakened in Mahbubnagar district and also lacked a leader who could hold masses.

With the present president G Kishan Reddy’s tenure coming to an end, there were even rumours that Janardhan Reddy might take the reins of the party. However, the BJP does not gives the top post to any member who does not have an active membership of nearly 10 years, sources said.

The BJP leadership which was of the opinion that Janardhan Reddy’s services can be useful for strenghtening the party has decided to give a key post to him and bring him back into the limelight.

Indicating this, Janardhan Reddy was part of the team of senior BJP leaders who met  party national president Amit Shah in Delhi on Wednesday.

BJP state president G Kishan Reddy and others were summouned by the party leadership in view of the humiliating defeat in the Warangal byelection and also the upcoming Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) elections, sources said.

It is learnt that the BJP leaders wanted the party to appoint incharges for the GHMC elections.
